7 Clicks Thursday- Iida, Japan

I've been asked to take one picture of day for the website sevenclicks.org to let people around the world see what daily life is like for me in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Taking the pictures was a lot of fun, not to mention very eye opening, but figuring out which seven to feature was the hard part.

We had a bad rainstorm this morning. The strength of the wind and rain that poured down was the strongest in living memory and some speculated it was because of global warming. Fortunately it was the Fall Equinox so we had no school today. After the storm passed I walked around the neighborhood, noting the downed branches and overall mess. Seieiji, a nearby Buddhist temple, seemed unaffected by the storm though; its stoic graves and quiet demeanor always seems untouched by time.
