We got another nice batch of snow yesterday starting yesterday afternoon so I was out and about getting lots of pictures. I usually pass by a nearby temple around 5pm every day where someone dutifully rings the temple's bell. I usually just think "Wow, Japan's cool." when I hear the bell and keep walking, but yesterday I stopped and started wandering around the small temple's grounds, ackwardly bowing to the bell ringer when he looked to see who was down below.
There's something about snow on Japanese temples, shrines and in gardens that makes them look so magical to me.
Really? That's awesome! If you go to northern Nagano there are places where they'll get like 10 feet of snow or something ridiculous like that. Yup, found a ridiculous picture: [link] In southern Nagano we'd get a little less snow than the US Midwest, which was more my style.
LOL. In general I feel the same way for you, but there's something about snow on Japanese temples that's just breathtaking. I think I'm going to post another snow pic now.
Thank you very much! I'm finding that I'm starting to think more like a photographer when taking pictures; trying to incorporate as many elements as I can. It's fun!
